With the experience gained from specializing in enterprise software for many years and working with hardware, mechanical and software engineering teams, I am willing to continue taking an active role in the "PLM Implementation" and "Digital Transformation" projects and keep passionate about learning about new technology trends like DevOps, IoT, Digital Twin, Digital Thread and AR&VR.

Starting from my university years, I have been always passionate about enterprise software solutions. In my nearly 15 years career, all my work experiences are included installation, administration, configuration, customization of an enterprise software, and integrating them with 3rd party and/or in-house tools. My daily job is working closely with engineering teams, understanding their needs, and creating solutions to ensure that they are doing their job right and making life easier for them.

I believe that I specialize in “process and efficiency-oriented thinking” and “understanding the cause of problems, accurately identifying business needs, producing and implementing holistic solutions”. I think that I have increased my knowledge academically in adapting/customizing/integrating enterprise software solutions with my master’s degree in Software Engineering.

In the defense industry, it is becoming more and more important to manage the Projects according to process maturity models (CMMI V1.3, ISO15504, etc.) and quality certifications (ISO 9001, AS 9100, etc.) requirements. For this purpose, Aselsan Communication and Information (CIT) Sector developed an application during their CMMI v1.3 Level 3 certification processes to monitor their project's readiness level by customizing MS Team Foundation Server framework with TFS API and C# based DLL files. In this paper, the Project Tracking application is explained in details and sample project tracking findings are shared.

@ UYMS 2017 - 11TH NATIONAL SOFTWARE ENGINEERING SYMPOSIUM


Team Foundation Server (TFS), Microsoft's Software Lifecycle Management (ALM) tool, is a commonly used enterprise software especially by software developers. TFS can able to manage feature, requirement, task, bug, change request, issue, review, test plan, test scenario, test case work items and the relationships between these records effectively. It’s very important to create Traceability Reports to manage relations between “feature-requirement”, “requirement-issue/bug”, “requirement-task” records in the scope of Requirement Management and “test plan-test case”, “requirement-test case” records in the scope of Test Management. Although TFS has advanced reporting capabilities with query user interfaces, their ability to create traceability reports is limited. Some paid 3rd party applications in the market have created traceability reports gathering TFS data, but these reports do not have sufficient flexibility so that the desired results cannot be obtained. In this study, we will provide information about the "Customizable Traceability Report Preparation Desktop Application" developed using C# language and TFS APIs, and share the acquired gains and future plans.

In defense industry, it is becoming more and more important to manage the Design Projects according to process maturity models (CMMI V1.3, ISO15504, etc.) and quality certifications (ISO 9001, AS 9100, etc.) requirements. Using different types of lifecycle management tools is becoming an option to meet these management requirements. For this purpose, Aselsan Communication and Information (CIT) Sector and Esen System Integration developed two different applications during their CMMI v1.3 Level 3 certification processes to monitor their project’s readiness level. CIT and Esen System Integration develop the applications by using MS TFS and ASP.NET 4.5, LINQ, XML databases, respectively. In this paper, the “Design Project Tracking” application, developed by CIT, is explained in details and sample design project tracking findings are shared.
